Why are more and more people choosing EPDM sealing strips
1. Low density and high filling capacity: EPDM rubber is a type of rubber with a lower density, with a density of 0.87. In addition, it can be filled with a large amount of oil and fillers, which can reduce the cost of rubber products and compensate for the high price of EPDM rubber raw rubber. Moreover, for high Mooney value EPDM rubber, the decrease in physical and mechanical properties after high filling is not significant.
2. Aging resistance: Ethylene propylene rubber has excellent weather resistance, ozone resistance, heat resistance, acid and alkali resistance, steam resistance, color stability, electrical performance, oil charging, and room temperature flowability. EPDM rubber products can be used for a long time at 120 ℃, between 150-200 ℃. C can be used briefly or intermittently. Adding suitable anti-aging agents can increase their usage temperature. EPDM rubber crosslinked with peroxides can be used under more stringent conditions. Ethylene propylene diene monomer rubber can withstand an ozone concentration of 50 × 10~and a tensile strength of 30% for over 150 hours without cracking.
3. Corrosion resistance: Due to the lack of ethylene propylene rubber and low unsaturation, it has good resistance to various chemicals such as alcohols, acids, alkalis, oxidants, refrigerants, detergents, animal and vegetable oils, ketones, and fats; However, its stability is poor in aliphatic and aromatic solvents such as gasoline, benzene, and mineral oils. Its performance also deteriorates under long-term exposure to concentrated acids.
4. Water vapor resistance: Ethylene propylene rubber has excellent water vapor resistance and is superior to its heat resistance. After being immersed in superheated steam at 230 ℃ for nearly 100 hours, there was no change in appearance. Under the same conditions, fluororubber, silicone rubber, fluorosilicone rubber, butyl rubber, nitrile rubber, and natural rubber experience significant deterioration in appearance over a short period of time.
5. Hot water resistance: EPDM rubber also has good hot water resistance, but it is closely related to the vulcanization system used. Ethylene propylene rubber with disulfide and TMTD as vulcanization systems showed minimal changes in mechanical properties after soaking in superheated water at 125 ℃ for 15 months, with a volume expansion rate of only 0.3%.
